Sleep Workshop/Book Signing on September 30

“Sleep Tight Tonight” workshop/book signing with NOWA member Tracy Ecclesine Ivie Thursday, Sept. 30, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Clinton Book Shop, 12 East Main Street. The $15 workshop fee includes her new read-in-bed insomnia book, “Why Count Sheep When You Can SLEEP?” Advance registration preferred at 908-735-8811, but walk-ins are OK.

Why Count Sheep When You Can Sleep? by Tracy Ivie

Susan Stokes presented “Building Your Social Media Presence through HBA” to attendees at the two-day HBA Global Expo in New York City. Attendees were introduced to the social media sites of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter and given insight on how to incorporate a social media strategy into their own business marketing mix.

NOWA rented a table at the Somerset County Business Partnership at the Bridgewater Marriott on June 17th. Many attendees showed great interest in both the NOWA organization and the services individual members offered. Contacts were made and business cards exchanged. NOWA also raffled off a basket of goodies, including gift certificates for services by NOWA members.

Susan Stokes participated as a speaker at the 2010 Folio Show in New York City, a national event for Magazine Publishers. The topic was The Rise of Virtual Events 2.0 – she presented a Case Study of the initial launch of the Cruise Shipping Miami Virtual Trade Show. Susan assisted with the launch of this event while working as Digital Development Manager for UBM International Media.

Frank Peluso was interviewed on the Real Life Adventures Show on WDVR 89.7 FM hosted by Chris Phelan, of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, who was filling in for Rita Cleary. The topic was Photography Past, Present and Future and how Frank has managed to stay successfully self employed for 40 years in a field that has gone through difficult and evolutionary changes.

J.R. Bale of Balefire Communications LLC completed a business plan, catalog and brochure for a new nursing school that is scheduled to open later this year.
